| 要旨本文 | Platypus koryoensis is an ambrosia beetle distributed in East Asia and a major vector of Korean oak wilt in South Korea, where it has caused serious forest damage. In Japan, however, its occurrence has been confirmed only since 2010 in limited areas of Oita Prefecture, Kyushu. The phylogeographic structure of this species remains poorly understood, particularly in Japanese populations. We analyzed mitochondrial DNA COI sequences from 74 individuals collected from seven localities in South Korea and one in Japan to assess geographic genetic variation. Korean populations showed high haplotype diversity, whereas only a single haplotype was detected in the Japanese population. Although this haplotype was not identical to those detected in Korea, sequence divergence was small, suggesting a close genetic relationship with Korean populations and a strong historical bottleneck in the Japanese population. |
