要旨本文 Triadica sebifera is an invasive tree species in Japan for which felling-based management is ineffective due to its strong resprouting capacity. As a management option, we are investigating the potential of using coppice shoots as a biomass resource. Seven 47-year-old T. sebifera trees were cut at ground level in 2021, resprouting stems were harvested after two years and again after a further two years. At each harvest, stem diameter and height, stem number, and total aboveground biomass per stump were measured. Allometric equations were developed to estimate stem- and stump-level biomass. Stem biomass models showed high predictive performance. For stump-level model, measurements of only the largest resprouting stem were sufficient to accurately predict total stump biomass. These findings support a simplified approach for biomass estimation in coppiced T. sebifera.
