要旨本文	Urban areas face imbalances in the diversity of planted species of trees and planted herbaceous plants. With limited planting spaces available, urban areas are seen as locations of low biodiversity. This research focused to compare the diversity of trees and herbaceous plants on selected green parks and street lanes of Setagaya ward. Six urban street lanes and 18 public parks were surveyed. A total of 49 tree species and 46 herb species were surveyed in the research area. For street lanes, 26 tree species and 33 herb species were surveyed and for public parks, 38 tree species and 29 herb species were surveyed. The tree species richness and diversity index value (3.1452) in parks is greater than that on streets (2.5312) while the opposite is true for herb species.
