Bedrock groundwater responses and its contribution to runoff generation processes in headwater catchments

要旨本文 Spatial variation of bedrock groundwater inflow in baseflow generation of 17.2 ha headwater catchment with six nested gauging stations was examined. The total channel length was 490 m with 100 m upstream ephemeral. Based on flow duration analysis, median flow at catchment outlet was 0.32 mm/day and low flow was 0.08 mm/day. Stream flow of 0.43 to 2.58 mm/day (9%) with API30 > 40 mm was defined as high baseflow, while that of 0.06 to 0.42 mm/day (40%) with API30 < 40 mm day was defined as low baseflow. For high baseflow period, runoff increased 2.5 times at the middle section. Hence, flow volume changes were trivial from middle to catchment outlet at both high and low baseflow conditions. Bedrock groundwater level at 30 m depth was elevated by 4.4 m at high baseflow and 2.1 m at low baseflow from baseline level. As the stream temperature increases were also mitigated until middle section, groundwater inflow at 30 m depth sustained stream flow in the discreet section of the channel.
